About Karen Rispin

Karen Rispin

My favourite poet is Gerard Manley Hopkins. His concept of "Inscape" says that looking deeply and carefully at nature shows something of nature of God. With all images, my goal is to bring the harmony and joy of nature into indoor spaces. The Inscape Art images are a little different. They are based on photos taken with a Nikon camera with a 105 mm lens. Like the medieval monks, I put these together in diptychs, triptychs using the proportions and relationships of the divine section. That pattern of unity and trinity is the underpinning of the Fibonacci series. The medieval monks saw this as the glory of God at work. I agree with them!!
