Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

This silhouetted figure of a woman hoeing a garden, perched atop an arrow, serves as the “fin” of a wind vane, also commonly called a weathervane. The fin sits on a spindle that allows it to rotate, always pointing in the direction from which the wind is coming. Besides being a decorative and fun garden accent, this simple weather instrument is practical; it helps the alert gardener or weather watcher know when a storm is coming and whether it’s moving toward or away from the area. Made of metal, this particular vane is now rusty from its years in the elements; the red-brown rust color is complemented by a green background.
I use my camera to explore the world around me and as a basis for creative expression. Because I live in Nebraska, I have a fondness for rural scenes that will be evident as you explore my images, but I enjoy traveling and have many other interests as well. I hope you enjoy your visit.
