Description
Iberian weapons, artwork. At upper left is a 6th-century BC 'antenna' sword made from iron. At upper centre is an arc-shaped pommel sword, also made of iron, with the hilt between the two showing the evolution (around the 4th century BC) from the antenna-type hilt to the rounded pommel hilt. At upper right, with an ornate hilt and scabbard rings, is a falcata, a curved blade characteristic of the Iberian peninsula from around the 4th century BC. At lower left are two swords from the Celtic La Tene culture. At centre is a dagger with an antenna hilt. At lower right is a bent javelin or spear, known as a soliferrea.
